Maxim Magazine, and the last protest.

For those of you who didn't know, Anonymous made it into the Maxim magazine. You can read the article here:

http://www.maxim.com/TheAnonymousStormSurroundingScientology/articles/39451.aspx

This is a great win for the movement and Anonymous. There is talk about Anonymous being in a Playboy as well... Even if it is in magazines such as this, it is still good to get the word out - for those who actually read the articles!

Reflections on last protest:

Our protests are back to being about as good as they were when we first started. We've become so good at what we do we don't need to have meetings to discuss the protest anymore. Our protests are full of lulz, party stuff, enturbulation, and of course some serious business. Everywhere from people handing out flyers to people chalking the sidewalk - we get it done and we get it done well with fun.

I'm also glad to say that our numbers are starting to grow again from a steep decline after lulz had been taken away from protests. We expect our numbers to continue to grow again - as college comes back 'round.

Next protest: September 13th.

Next event: Hopefully the Liberty Parade!

Last protest and... something already?! Liberty Parade

The last protest was absolutely win. This is the most energetic protest yet, great music, great dancing, great enturbulating. I will probably write more about it shortly.

However, our next big event:

We are going to try and get into the Liberty Parade. This is going to require some epic planning and decisions. Thus, a meeting is going to be held on IRC on Wednesday (this Wednesday: August 20th) and 8:30pm. hopefully the later time will incite you guise to hop on IRC. This could be epic, people. This could recruit so many more. This is our time to shine. It's a freakin' parade, maybe the news won't continue to ignore us.

SovietShark
Protest: there is one

Ok if i didnt screw this up, you are now informed that we are protesting on august the 16th. time on site is 11 Am - 4 PM. we will meet somewhere and go somewhere, others who have better memories than me please fill in my errors.

SovietShark:

As per usual, the protest will be from 11am to 4pm. There will be music, there will be chants, there will be dancing, there will be memes, and there will be cake (if not, yell at me that the cake is a lie.)

For new people (pulled from previous news post, because it's good:)

Meet up at the 28th Ave light rail station anywhere from 9-9:30.:
http://mnraid.org/datas/users/90-mplstrainmap.jpg

The group meeting at the light rail station will board the train at about 9:30 and then will head to the org. DO NOT GO TO MALL OF AMERICA and take the light rail there. We have been TOWED at OUR EXPENSE (about 300 dollars per towing.)

The second meeting place (which the light rail people eventually up at) is here, at the Starbucks at 9th and Nicollet Ave. This is from 10-10:55am:
http://mnraid.org/datas/users/90-mplsprotestlocation.bmp

We will leave Starbucks at 10:55 and walk to the org, about a block up Nicollet ave. The protest will be across the street from the Scientology building, and will last from 11am to 4pm. Bring food and non alcoholic (yeah this sucks, but public drunkenness is against the law! And ya know, a lot of you are too young, so GET OFF MY LAWN.)-drinks to share or just for yourself. STAY AWAY FROM THE DAKOTAS, THEY HATE US FOR SOME REASON AND WILL FIND ANY REASON TO REPORT US.

More to come...

On recent events...

We need a balance.

Online Anonymous can never be the same as irl Anonymous. As in, it's impossible for us to act that way irl. Memes are great. Dancing and partying hard is great. Shouting the words "cocks" and "nigger" to random passerbys is not. Being an idiot and getting V& is not.

There's a fine line between what we can do on here and what we can do out there. Feline was just trying to emphasize the latter, much like ohai and stoop and ips are trying to emphasize the former.

They're both right. We aren't going to limit ourselves online in any way, because that's how we operate. Don't like it, grow a thicker skin. But we also can't act that way irl. Anyone who disagrees with that will end up in jail or shunned for being an idiot.

It's going to take a strong balance between the two. The extreme moralfags and lulzfags are just going to have to learn to tolerate each other and work together. Because they both have points, and we need them both in order to take down the cult.

July 12th Protest

The day after the dust settles and the excitement is gone, but we are anon and will continue on... next month.

The protest was full of win. A LOT of the public was interested, stopping to take pictures, or to listen to speeches, or to read our signs, or to get a flyer. We don't have the numbers we used to, but we've gotten good at keeping morale with music and now memes too.

Someone from the BBC was there - he said he was a news analyst. We'll see if he can help us out. When I went to lunch Emily told me that chops called her and said the media was there. When we got back after lunch s/he wasn't in site, but I didn't ask around about him/her either.

We picked up someone new for the protests as well. Someone from the old guarde... Someone that was protesting Scientology before us. I hope he helps us out in our struggle against the CoS. He goes by traveler on the forums, greet him warmly!

The music was good, and was played all day. We're always taking requests in the music thread. That battery pack was screaming by the end, stating that it was almost dead, so it lasts just enough for each protest. That battery was a great idea.

REGIONALS is this month as well. July 26th in Chicago, Illinois. About 15 of Minnesota anons will be attending already, so if you're interested, you better post in the Midwest regionals thread.

Things we should do for next protest??
- More flyerbombings.
- Figure out more chants.
- More memes.
- Make sure KN doesn't drink before the protests so he actually shows up.
- Figure out something for the bus escape idea... perhaps run away in littlte groups.. making it smaller and smaller each time??

I hope to see you all next month, August 16th, same time, same place!

Sound Permit, Weather, and lulz oh my.

Our Outdoor Amplified Sound Permit is in, and thus the police are notified that we will be at the Scientology org on July 12th (or this Saturday...for you people that understand days weeks and months,) from 11 am to 4 pm. Everyone who is against Scientology is invited to pick up a sign, protest and have fun with us. Memes are back into the protests! At a time we decided to look "good" in the public eye, but now we realized that memes are a part of us... so we are embracing them again.

For anyone that's new and would like to join us, the plan is this:

Hope to see you all there.

Weather! The weather looks like it will be nice for the second time, gasp. It will probably be hot though, so dress accordingly. If it is going to be too warm then screw Spy vs Sci. We don't need anyone having a heat stroke or something, so this may even be the first protest where SovietShark doesn't wear a uniform. Ohs lawdy! I like to sing-a about the moon-a and the june-a and the spring-a...

No Protesting After 4PM?

Due to an unfortunate incident with some security guards during a flier-raid yesterday, it has come to our attention that there are some rules that we need to be reminded of.

I have been informed that we have a special agreement with some of the local businesses located across the street from the Minneapolis Org. This agreement states that we are to refrain from protesting on the block across from the Org after 4:00PM. Because of this, when the security guards saw Marcabian Shock Troops within their perimeter, they descended upon our allies. Heated words were exchanged, and now we are in the process of running damage control on our PR to keep on everybody's good side.

So, if you're planning a flash raid around the Org, please make sure that it is finished (or moved a few blocks away) before 4:00PM. Edit - To be clear, as long as you are not on the sidewalk by Chipotlé and the Dakotas, you should be fine.

Also, remember the Rules, guys. Especially Rules 1 and 2. Even when provoked, Anons must remain cool at all times. This is essential to maintaining our good relations with the local businesses, and with the police. So far, everyone loves us (cept Dakotas lawl) and these good relations are some of our largest assets. By allowing ourselves to be provoked into losing our temper - whether by Scilons, Dakotas, Security Guards, or even the ghost of L. Ron himself - we jeopardize these relationships and the continued smooth operation of our protests.

Also, it is worth remembering: do not protest (or flierbomb) by yourself! If anything bad should happen to you, for whatever reason, it helps to have people who can back you up. Going by yourself is dangerous and invites trouble. Buddy system, plz.

Further details will be made available as they become relevant.

Further website tweaks.

So I've been pretty good about maintaining the site lately, and so here are some additions:

- FAQ system. I've added a FAQ system so that we can throw up any questions/answers we may have about Anonymous, the protests, and also this website. You can view that http://www.mnraid.info/plug.php?e=faq
- Other, small backed-type things. Nothing to see there.

I've also tweaked the member rights further - you can now ask/answer questions in the FAQ (but like everything else they have to be approved by a mod). So, get to asking those questions. I'm sure somebody has an answer.

Forum shop money fixed, other site news.

So I fixed the forum shop money bug, and everybody now has the appropriate amount of points. Unfortunately, all of your purchases (crowns, colored names, etc.) are now gone. If you do have money in the shop, I would put it in the bank so that you can accrue some income without worrying about being mugged all the time.

I also updated the navigation menu at the top of the site. I will be making some more additions/changes over time, and I will keep you posted on them as they are made.

Future updates are going to include: a more advanced (and user-friendly) PM system (DONE), a very nice FAQ, and some other...things...

Edit: Added a Karma system on the forums. If somebody says something you like, let them know via the Karma system. This also works for people who say retarded things as well.

Also, due to request by Emily, users can now submit events. This was actually an oversight on my part, so I am to blame for your not being able to submit them.

More to come. I will edit this post as necessary, as long as it's the top one.

Meeting Sunday June 29th, 7PM

Due to the recently uncovered group called Marblecake, #Minn will be holding a meeting to discuss Marblecake, how it effects and has effected us, and #Minn's future in relation to Marblecake.

For those who do not know what Marblecake is:

Marblecake is a group that has been pushing themes and ideas behind the scenes, instead of the whole group Anonymous deciding on what theme should be done for a month, or things like that. They essentially call their small group the leader group, and they drop dox to Scientology if people do not comply with them.

Why is this bad?

We are anonymous. We are a collective. We do not have leaders. We should be deciding together, not being motivated by a small group of people.

Anyway, meeting will be Sunday June 29th, at 7PM. As usual.

I brokeded it...srsly.

Because everybody was experiencing a "not getting mah points" issue, I told the forum shop to re-count all things that would be valid for points. Unfortunately, this gave everybody somewhere in the ballpark area of 4.5 billion points. Not exactly what I wanted to do.

So, I give you guys ONE DAY to capitalize on my error, then I re-set all points back to zero. Have at you!

The Return of Memes... The Return of Anonymous.

Well comrades,

We came in thinking we could do without memes. What would the public think of us? No, we can't do that. We are serious business. We can still have fun and enjoy doing this without the random insanity that brought Anonymous together in the first place. Don't believe it? Habeeb it.

We were wrong.

I think I speak for Minnesota Anonymous this one time when I say that we want it back. We had forgotten. Now we want it back. We are going back to Anonymous roots (in b4 rules 1 and 2.) We want memes back. We want the original content that made Anon great. Our protests are not epic victories. They are epic GETs. Our protests should be filled with win and lulz, along with protesting Scientology. We should all do a barrel roll into mudkipz and get over it.

Minnesota Anonymous started out all right, but soon we had divided by zero. Restrictions took over the protests and srs bsns reigned supreme. The latest protest had a pirate theme and I believe it made us realize how much fun we were missing out on. PARTY HARD comes to mind when I speak of the fun we could have. So we're bringing it back. I guess we pulled a slowpoke. Fun will be had by all. We will have music at each protest from here on out - as we have equipment and a POWER LEVEL OVER 9000. Thus, memes are back. Anonymous is back. Join us. Party hard Anon, party hard.

TWINKIE HOUSE

PS: Millhouse is not a meme.

MOAR PS: Candlejack said he would support u-

LOL WUT

ALSO PS: HAHAHA DISREGARD THAT, I SUCK COCKS
June 14th raid

Okay, so we had a good raid, despite small numbers, and we passed out over 500 flyers. A lot of people were responsive to us. There was a table, there was candy there was great music and a portable battery (thanks to Inplainsight, Rumble, Soviet and Shadowflare!!!)

quite a few people were dressed as pirates, we had pirate songs and pirate dances! talked about the sea org and it was good.

There were MANY speeches all of them excellent (even mine) and everyone was pleased with them.

We had several videofags and photofags, there were TONS of people walking past that took pictures with their phones.

At one point some 9-11 conspiracy theorists set up a protest just down the street in front of wcco. They hung around for about an hour and took off. ?? Dunno where they came from.

One thing that was a big difference is that Don Brown (angry stair guy) was not there staring at us! I hope that he is okay and in good health.

For once we had nice weather (quite sunny in fact)
I am SO glad to have all of you come and I hope that I will see you all in July!
<3 Emily

SovietShark: Also, the police at the end were wondering why we didn't do the bus exit. We'll have to do it next time!

Stormy Outlook

Well comrades,

It looks like the Scientology weather machine is at it again. They've had about a month to charge that dastardly machine up and the weather outlook for the protest is yet again - horrible.

Although the news keeps going back and forth... let's focus on the bad side, which why usually get.

Now then, doesn't this make the perfect scene? Pirate anons gathering outside the Scientology building with a storm brewing? Hoist the colors comrades... Wind to your back. Despite the weather, this will be the best protest yet.

We have beaten weather at every turn. Freezing cold. Snow. Extreme wind. Some rain. The hardcore will never give up, never surrender.

Where will you be for Sea Arrrgh?

New stuff for the site.

Just a quick update. I've added a couple of new features to the website: a shop, an RSS feed, and a user wall in your profile.

Shop: get points by posting in the forums, leaving comments on articles, submitting new articles, and all sorts of other things. Then, spend the points in the MNRAID Forum Shop.

RSS: Get an RSS feed for the MNRAID.org news. http://www.mnraid.org/rss.php

User wall: Now you can post comments/ratings in others profiles.

I will also be doing some updates to the website layout, so there may be some times when things are a little wonky. Don't worry, it will be fixed shortly.

Sea Arrrggh Meeting Topics

SOUND PROBLEM: This issue has been resolved. We have found a rechargeable battery pack that will last us 8 hours. We will be hooking up an amp to this battery pack for our music. MP3 players abound! Thank you rumble and shadowflare for your contributions.

SMOKING AREA: There are going to be designated smoking areas. Away from the Dakotas and the protest area. Sorry guys, but this is needed. Locations will be said at protests. We need to clean up the butts of the cigarettes too, coffee cans will be used for this.

ROVING BANDS: These will be organized by Toad AT the protest itself. We will be using radios again. Toad will likely have a map to track these groups. It looks like there will be 4 to a group.

CORNERS: We will probably do corners again, but a street or so away. Visible from the main group at the protest. We're thinking one honk sign, and two people flyering.

SPEECHES: We're going to go all out this time. There will be speeches (lulzy and serious,) along with music in between them.

VIGIL: The vigil will be at Gold Medal Park from 8-10pm. There will be a planned event in between the main protest and the vigil, so don't fret. Read the vigil reboot thread for more information/questions you may have.

BALLOONS: We will have the balloons we had last time. Stay tuned.

REGIONALS: See regional thread for more information.

FORUM RANKS: Forum ranks are going to be created and reinstated. Check Emily's talent thread for more information under General Discussion.

ODDS AND ENDS: The only thing I'd like to remind people of is that if you take the light rail, then you are going to have to realize that you CANNOT wear a mask on the light rail. If you're worried about it, keep your face covered with your hand.

MUSIC: If you have a song you'd like played at the protest, then send me the mp3 of it over PM or something!

I can't wait to see everyone at the protests.
